How can my child see their counselor/ the psychologist?

Students are able to see their counselor/ the psychologist by coming into the office and filling out a pink slip.  Most of the time your child will be seen during their elective or PE unless it is an urgent matter.  We also see students based on staff and parent referrals.  The counselor offices are located in the main office, and the school psychologist’s office is located next to the library.

How can parents talk to the counselors/ the psychologist?

We are available via e-mail or phone daily.  We encourage you to make an appointment with us if you would like to meet in person.

Lunch Club

Lunch Club is held in the Library on Mondays and Thursdays.  Students can come in during their lunch time to eat, play games, and socialize with their peers and the counselors.  They can also use this time to catch up on work.  It is limited to the first 40 students – first come, first served!  This club is run continuously throughout the year.

GPS – Get Prepared for School/ Success

GPS is a 6-8 week group held during the first couple of months of the school year.  This group is designed to teach students organizational and study skills.  If you are interested in your child participating, please let us know.

Leilani’s bio

Hello!  I’m excited to be a Panther this year!  This is my fifth year as a school counselor and my second year with OUESD.  I grew up in Southern California where I attended UC Riverside and majored in Sociology.  I also have a Master’s in Education with an emphasis in counseling, a Pupil Personnel Services Credential, and a Child, Welfare, and Attendance credential from Cal State Dominguez Hills.  I look forward to helping our students have a wonderful school year!
